I wonder what the disciples thought as jesus rose to the heavens. Did they expect Him to immediatly descend with an army of angels? The scene feels early morning. The sun is rising and hits you on the cheek with the morning shadows still playing on the grass. Beginnings. Then the two men approach the disciples and tell them "time to get to work fellas."
So much was new, so much unexplained, so much possible. Christianity is so defnined these days that to see it so raw is refreshing. The Holy Spirit is this gift and it's real and it's powerful and it will fill the men. we take the holy spirit for granted. i know i do. but what a powerful existence when it swooped in.
Prayers: I pray for the continued health of my son and wife. For us to find ways to spend more time together. For the house project to end, the chimney to NOT nead repair, and for a reprieve in general on home maintenance. that i prepare for Emmaues and am blessed for it.
